Artificial Intelligence [AI]

Artificial Intelligence is a human emphasized technology that is programmed to think and mimic human actions. For example, speech recognition, planning and learning etc.

We all sometimes talk to Siri when it is impossible to sleep at night. Yes, that is artificial intelligence that I will be talking about.

We live in a world where technology is advanced and we almost rely on machines but not yet completely, Thank god! However, they are making their way in our lives and minds. They completely affect our lifestyle and what we do. How many times do you check your phone in only 2 hours?

A true artificial intelligence is the one that can learn things own it’s own without any outside help. True A.I. can improve on past iterations, getting smarter and more aware, allowing it to enhance its capabilities and its knowledge.

The type of AI that we see on TV shows like Westworld, Alex Garland’s and Ex-Machina are way too far that we are right now, at least not for now. Right now, we are talking about pseudo technology AI.

Here are some examples of AI and how do they work:

1. SIRI

Do you know Siri? Apple’s personal assistant that we all communicate with on a daily basis. She’s a friendly voice activated AI that helps us find our way, or help us remember our schedule or important dates and provide us with a lot of information.

Siri is a pseudo-intelligent digital personal assistant that improves itself using machine learning on the basis of questions and information that is needed from her.

2. Alexa

Alexa’s rise to become the smart home’s hub, has been somewhat meteoric. When Amazon first introduced Alexa, it took much of the world by storm.

However, it’s usefulness and its uncanny ability to decipher speech from anywhere in the room has made it a revolutionary product that can help us scour the web for information, shop, schedule appointments, set alarms and a million other things, but also help power our smart homes and be a conduit for those that might have limited mobility.

3. Tesla

Don’t own a Tesla? You have no idea how much you are missing. Tesla is one of the best cars ever made and not because it owns a lot of medals and stuff but because it is.

A car with self driving features, it’s predictive capabilities and it’s oh my god “coolness”. If you are fond of technology and cars, Tesla is the right option for you. You need to have a Tesla in your garage.

4. Cogito

Cogito was founded by CEO Joshua Feast and Dr. Sandy Pentland, Cogito is one of the most powerful example of behavioral representation that improves the emotional intelligence of the customer support representatives that are there on the market today.

The company is a fusion of machine learning and behavioral science to improve the experience of phone professionals who get a lot of calls every day from all over the world.

5. Amazon.com

Amazon’s transactional A.I. is something that’s been in existence for quite some time, allowing it to make money in large amounts. With it’s algorithm refined more and more over the years, Amazon has gotten pretty smart at predicting what we want and what we like to buy.

While Amazon is trying to ship us our products before we even need them but it hasn’t been there yet.

6. Netflix

Netflix provides highly accurate predictive technology based on customer’s reactions to films. It analyzes billions of records to suggest films that you might like based on your previous reactions and choices of films.

However, the tech’s only drawback is that most small-labeled movies go unnoticed while big-named movies grow and balloon on the platform.

These are some examples of AI that we use and know about.
